2019 – A Year in Review

We have had such an amazing year here at Charles Cameron - developing some exciting partnerships, launching with lots of exciting new corporate clients as well as receiving some investment backing from superbly supportive equity partners. So, we wanted to share some of our highlights in the following timeline.

January 2019

In January 2019, we were delighted to announce that we had new investors, Lonsdale Capital Partners. CC&As unique business model, which includes working closely with HR benefit teams of blue-chip corporations providing fee-free mortgage advice and financial education to staff, attracted Lonsdale, as they are keen to assist us in developing and expanding our offering.

Andy Chetwood, Director of Lonsdale Capital Partners, said: “In CC&A, we are backing a business that fulfils Lonsdale’s key investment criteria: a growing sector, a strong market position and a highly capable management team. CC&A has a fantastic distribution model with no direct competitors and strong relationships with an impressive group of blue-chip corporations. The Company has grown fast, and we expect this to continue as corporates look to improve the benefits they offer their employees. Simon has a huge amount of experience in the mortgage industry, and we look forward to working with him and the wider management team to take the business to the next level.”

This investment and partnership allowed us to implement an existing growth strategy during 2019.

May 2019

We were once again very proud to sponsor the Best CSR Initiative at the HR in Law Awards 2019. Held at the Tobacco Dock, London and hosted by Sally Phillips.

A huge congratulations to DAC Beechcroft for winning the best CSR initiative award (with Horwich Farrelly – Highly Commended). Judges were impressed by the tripartite collaboration between this firm, the NHS and local schools to drive forward a unique initiative that not only benefits all three but also has a positive impact on local communities.

July 2019

In July 2019, our MD Simon Nimmo announced a joint venture with the Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) a multi-award-winning mortgage intermediary, with over 1250 advisers covering every UK postcode. By combining Charles Cameron & Associates expertise in delivering employee Mortgage Advice Service to HR & Benefits Teams, with Mortgage Advice Bureau’s UK wide networks of highly experienced and top-rated advisers, we now offer a Financial Wellness Package that is inclusive of all industry sectors, UK regions and employee demographics.

Simon Nimmo, Managing Director of Charles Cameron and Associates, said  “The existing Charles Cameron bespoke Financial Wellbeing service will remain unchanged for existing and potential partners with London-centric headquarters, but we are delighted to also be able to now extend the service to every company in the UK looking to offer their staff financial wellbeing provision through free mortgage advice.”

MAB chief executive Peter Brodnicki says: “This new partnership between Charles Cameron and MAB is a huge opportunity for both companies. Simon Nimmo has grown an outstanding business with an unrivalled reputation in the employee mortgage advice sector, and in partnership with MAB, he will now be able to extend his market-leading proposition across the UK to a far larger and more diverse audience. The response has already been tremendous, and combining the strengths and vision of both firms, including the very best of telephone advice, face to face and digital, is a truly exciting prospect for all involved.”

In November, we were delighted to launch our joint services to our first corporate client- Rolls Royce.

August 2019

In August we were thrilled to launch a re-brand of our website and corporate appointment booking pages. Featuring a refreshed colour palette, easier navigation for users and clearer signposting to our online features such as video meetings available from 8 am-8 pm daily. Shortly after our website re-design, we launched this knowledge hub. This new resource provides interesting and useful articles, blogs, videos and links on the mortgage and property market. We will be regularly adding content to this feature to help keep our corporate clients updated with the mortgage market.

October 2019

We have some outstandingly talented people working here at Charles Cameron, and in October we launched a new recognition scheme to thank them for all of their hard work – the first Charles Cameron Top Performers lunch was attended by some of the staff who regularly go above and beyond what is expected of them.

November 2019

In 2019, we proudly continued our Reward Associate Membership of REBA. The Prestigious Innovation Day in November, saw industry-leading members come together for a thought-provoking day.




December 2019

We are excited to announce that by the end of 2019, we have expanded our corporate client base to include over 170 corporate partners. We launched our mortgage advice and education service to the employees of 26 new partners in 2019, including Law firms, Insurance companies, Banks, Marketing Agencies, Business Consultancy firms and many others.

To conclude the incredible year, CC&A hosted a number of Corporate Hospitality Events at the O2 Arena. We had a fabulous time with our clients at concerts headlining Ariana Grande, Rod Stewart and even hosted 25 of our wonderful clients at The Jingle Bell Ball. A fabulous time was had by all.

At the Jingle Bell Ball, we had the pleasure of meeting Samih and his mother (Taghred). Samih is blind and has been fighting cancer for a long time. After starting up a conversation with Samih’s mum, we learned that Samih absolutely loves music, as it helps him to escape from his worries and fears. After hearing his story, Simon (Nimmo) was determined to help make one of his dreams come true.

Through working with our event planners, we were delighted to be able to provide Samih and his family a VIP Box at Disney on Ice over Christmas. He attended with his young cousins and they had an unforgettable evening. We ended the year with some absolutely fantastic news and we are so delighted that we wanted to share it – Samih’s latest MRI has shown that he needs no further treatment. We are absolutely delighted for him and his mum and we are looking forward to following his progress through-out 2020.

It has been a couple of weeks of pure fear for me, thinking that Samih could be going into treatment again. I’m so grateful for your kindness and words of encouragement and support in this time, it really helped me get through the waiting with a degree of equilibrium. We approach the new year with a renewed energy and zest for life…And, we wish you a wonderful, happy, healthy New Year.”  Taghred (Samih’s Mum)
